Kamal Deep Singh is a seasoned Linux Engineer with over 12 years of experience in system administration, architecture of large-scale infrastructure, life-cycle management, and production support of extremely large and hyper-critical environments. He is currently working at Apple as a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, where he has been instrumental in designing and developing REST API-based micro-service applications to automate application deployment and server management across multiple data centers. Kamal has extensive experience in deploying applications as micro-services in Kubernetes clusters and has worked with team members to help them understand what is needed for their application to be deployed in Kubernetes. He has also troubleshooted Kubernetes-related problems on deployed applications and hosted prometheus with federation to collect metrics from clusters in multiple regions in one place. In his previous role at Apple, Kamal was responsible for providing support for Apple Linux infrastructure consisting of 50,000+ servers. He led the ansible standardization project with a goal of using best-practices and consistent standards across the entire infrastructure. He also mentored SEs in a wide range of skills, including ansible playbooks, git for collaboration, and gerrit for code review. Kamal has a strong educational background, having completed his B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication from the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, as well as a Diploma in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic. He is also proficient in a wide range of technologies, including SRE, Kubernetes, infra, Ansible, Microservices, Golang, test, Python, Puppet, Docker, Integration, and Django. Overall, Kamal has relevant experience of 14.62 years and is a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a proven track record of success in managing large-scale infrastructure and supporting hyper-critical environments.
